RESA Says If Ruto Appoints a Realtor As Lands CS It Will Be The Top Ministry
Realtors are now proposing one of their members be appointed as the next Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Public Works , Housing and urban development.
Speaking yesterday in Nairobi, members from the Association of Reals Stakeholders (RESA) appealed to President William Ruto to appoint someone with a background in the real estate sector to address critical issues facing the industry.
“ From the previous appointments we have analyzed and it is our strong belief that the President in his wisdom should consider someone who has a background in real estate. There are a lot of issues facing the land sector and it is only someone who has served in the sector will understand,’ said Chairman RESA Kinyua Wairatu.
Wairatu said the association is proposing Perminus Kariuki, a spokesperson of RESA to get the job.
“ Truth be told, we from the real estate sector understand all the problems we have and we also have the right solutions. For instance we have serious proposals that can be adopted on how to deal with fraudsters,’ said Wairatu.
On his part Stephen Kigathe a member of RESA said appointing Kariuki for the job will act as rewarding the sector in as far as taxes are concerned.
“We contribute a lot as far as taxes are concerned. We have also managed to improve most areas as far as infrastructure is concerned. We not only buy land but we also do value addition to it,” he said.
Perminus Kariuki is the founder of Nyota Njema Real Estate Limited, a property investment company founded in 2018.
He is a certified financial advisor, a Bachelor of Business Administration financial option holder from Maseno University.
At the same time, RESA declared war on all land selling companies but they don’t have the right certificates.
Wairatu said they have started an ambitious campaign where they will be exposing all fraudsters.
“ From now hence force we have declared war on all fraudsters. We will expose all of them without fear. There is no way we will continue to spend millions building our companies then someone comes in to destroy our good reputation.’ Said Wairatu.
Wairatu said they target to have registered more than 2000 companies by next year.
