Ministry of Interior Director of Administration Stella Soi Rejected as Cabinet Secretary Nominee as 19 Others Cleared

The appointment of 19 Cabinet Secretary nominees selected by President William Ruto to fill positions in his broad-based government has been approved the Parliament Committee on Appointments .

Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah announced the approval on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, shortly after the conclusion of the vetting process for 20 individuals.

“Honourable Speaker, I beg to lay the following paper on the table of the House today, August 7, 2024, the second report of the Committee of Appointments on the vetting of persons for appointment to the Offices of Secretaries volumes 1, 2, 3A and 3B,” Ichung’wah stated.

The approved CSs include;

1. National Treasury – John Mbadi

2. Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports – Kipchumba Murkomen

3. Cooperatives and MSME Development – Wycliffe Oparanya

  4. Tourism and Wildlife – Rebecca Miano

5. Energy and Petroleum – Opiyo Wandayi

6. Public Service – Justin Muturi

7. Investments, Trade and Industry – Salim Mvurya

8. Labour and Social Protection – Alfred Mutua

9. Mining and Blue Economy – Hassan Joho 

10. Ministry of the Interior and National Administration – Kithure Kindiki 

11.Ministry of Health – Debra Mulongo Barasa 

12. Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry- Aden Duale 

13. Ministry of Roads and Transport – Davis Chirchir 

14. Ministry of Defence – Soipan Tuya
