In the rapidly evolving world of technology, few figures stand out for both their depth of expertise and their steadfast commitment to legacy-building across continents. Bram Ayoo, Executive Director of EITI, is one such visionary—an IT and management consulting expert whose career has spanned over 25 years and whose work continues to shape the digital landscape of Sub-Saharan Africa.

From his early days in New York to leading multi-million-dollar digital projects for global organizations, Bram’s journey is a story of resilience, reinvention, and relentless pursuit of value through technology.

A Global Career Rooted in Excellence

Bram’s story begins in the U.S., where he honed his craft working for Fortune 500 companies like IBM, Accenture Consulting LLP, and Schering-Plough. His formative years in the U.S. tech ecosystem provided a deep foundation in systems analysis, enterprise architecture, and strategic IT deployment. His first major breakthrough came in 1992 when he secured a coveted IT Systems Analyst role at Bertelsmann in New York—a launchpad that would propel him into global enterprise roles.

He later led product management for IBM across Central, East, and West Africa, and served as Director of Oracle Consulting in Sub-Saharan Africa. At Oracle, Bram worked at the intersection of business development and software solution architecture, helping major institutions reimagine their digital capabilities.

Founding EITI: Vision Meets Legacy

In 2015, Bram returned to Kenya with a clear vision: to bring world-class IT methodologies and ethical consulting practices to local and regional markets. EITI—his flagship firm—is the embodiment of that dream.

Headquartered in Kenya with operations across Sub-Saharan Africa, EITI specializes in helping governments, NGOs, and UN agencies optimize their operations through technology. The firm is known for its emphasis on digital transformation in the humanitarian sector—a complex space often overlooked by traditional consultancies.

“We work to fill the digital void in the NGO and government sectors,” Bram explains. “Our aim is to bring structure, innovation, and measurable impact to organizations doing crucial work in this region.”

Building a Culture of Innovation

Bram is not only a technologist; he is a leader of people. Under his guidance, EITI has cultivated a culture of technical excellence rooted in continuous learning, mentorship, and strategic innovation. He emphasizes soft skills as much as technical competence, believing that empathy and attention to detail are just as vital in solving complex IT challenges.

His approach to team building is both empowering and pragmatic: identify potential, assign challenging roles, and nurture talent through responsibility and exposure. “You can’t grow tech leaders unless you trust them to lead,” he says.

Leading Through Change: From Y2K to AI

Over the years, Bram has helped organizations navigate some of the most significant disruptions in tech—from Y2K compliance at major pharmaceutical firms in the U.S. to cybersecurity overhauls in today’s digital-first world. His approach to risk management is methodical and forward-thinking, with a strong focus on safeguarding digital assets, reducing cyber threats, and implementing resilient systems.

Looking ahead, Bram sees artificial intelligence and machine learning becoming central to the IT ecosystem. EITI is already laying the groundwork to help clients transition into this new era, with a focus on meaningful use cases and ethical deployment.

A Legacy Beyond Profit

But perhaps Bram’s most profound impact lies in his dedication to legacy. Beyond delivering business value, he is deeply committed to mentoring Kenya’s next generation of tech leaders. His goal is to create access and opportunity for young professionals, equipping them with the tools, training, and confidence needed to thrive in the global digital economy.

“I want to be remembered as someone who opened doors, shared knowledge, and built bridges between continents, sectors, and generations,” he shares.

In a world that often chases quick wins and fleeting trends, Bram Ayoo stands as a symbol of principled leadership, strategic thinking, and sustainable impact. Through EITI and his extensive legacy in tech, he continues to quietly but powerfully shape the future of digital development across Africa—and beyond.
