Access Bank (Kenya) PLC and National Bank of Kenya Introduce Seamless Shared Banking Services

Access Bank (Kenya) PLC (“Access Bank Kenya”) and National Bank of Kenya (“NBK”) have today announced a strategic service integration that allows customers from either bank to access certain in-branch banking services seamlessly across both institutions.

The collaboration, which is part of the ongoing integration process, will enable tellers across the combined branch network to process core transactions, including viewing account details, making cash deposits and withdrawals, and transferring funds.

This new capability represents a major step toward providing seamless service across a combined footprint of more than 100 branches countrywide and is aimed at enhancing convenience, expanding reach, and improving service delivery. Customers are assured that their existing accounts, cards, cheque books, and digital platforms remain valid, and deposits remain secure.

Commenting on the milestone, Access Bank Kenya County Managing Director, Ralph Opara, said: “I’m pleased at the strides we have made to get to where we are today. By opening our networks to each other’s customers, we are ensuring that banking is simpler, faster, and more accessible. Retail and SMES customers will enjoy wider access and more reliable digital channels, the corporate and multinational clients will receive support for cross-border trade finance and treasury management through Access Bank’s hubs located in the UK, Dubai, China, Malta, France, India, Lebanon, and Hong Kong.  Public sector clients will continue to rely on NBK’s expertise, now reinforced by digitized collections, disbursements, and greater capacity to advance Kenya’s national inclusion agenda.
