EPK hands over eight Junior Secondary School STEM Laboratories in Nandi County

Eastern Produce Kenya (EPK) has officially handed over the final batch of Junior Secondary School (JSS) science laboratories in Nandi County in fulfillment of its 2025 commitment to promoting STEM education under the Competency-Based Curriculum, with plans to extend the programme into 2026.
This initiative forms part of EPK’s long-standing community relations and educational development program, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education.
EPK has been working in partnership with County education stakeholders and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Quality Assurance and Standards Officers to facilitate the establishment of laboratories that meet the Ministry of Education’s specifications and aligns with the national curriculum and the practical learning needs of students.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, the Nandi County Director of Education, Mr. Harrison Muriuki, who was the chief guest , commended EPK for its consistent contribution to education in Nandi County. “Partnerships between the private sector and education stakeholders are vital, not only in expanding access to quality STEM learning, but also in equipping learners with the skills and competencies needed to seize future opportunities.” He noted.
Through these partnerships, EPK continues to reinforce its commitment to quality and inclusivity in education. By working closely with curriculum experts and local education leaders, the company keeps each project responsive to learners’ needs and continues to expand access to meaningful STEM education, particularly in rural communities where such opportunities are often limited.
To date, these efforts have seen a cumulative investment of over Kshs 33 million and the completion of 21 science laboratories and 1 IT lab, underscoring the company’s commitment to the social pillar of sustainability within its catchment communities.
