Daniel Obam:A Formidable Force In African Policy

Daniel Obam, Convergant Kenya Limited CEO is now Huawei’s special advisor on Africa policy and regulatory affairs.
Mr Obam who is very passionate about technology and innovation in Africa,has played a crucial role in the digital transformation in African economies set towards achieving a Single African Digital Market.
Daniel was also among those who spearheaded the migration from analogue to digital terrestrial TV, developed many ICT policies, strategies, laws, and regulations for the Republic of Kenya. He also has an extensive experience in radio frequency regulatory policy at the national, regional and international level.
Besides serving as an International Telecommunication Union Expert, a position he has held for over 11 years,he also has over 30 years senior management and C-level experience in ardent public regulatory policy.
Prior to his roles at Huawei, International Telecommunication Union, and Convergant Kenya Limited, Daniel served for over 20 years at the National Communications Secretariat, where he has amassed a lot of his experience.He has also served at the National Public Policy and Stakeholder Engagement as the Chair.
In 2015, he was awarded the Head of State Commendation (HSC) by His Excellency The President of the Republic of Kenya in recognition of distinguished and outstanding services rendered.
