Kipyegon Breaks her own 1500m World Record in Paris
World 1,500m and Mile record holder Faith Kipyegon has broken her own World Record in the 1500m at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday, July 7th, 2024.
Kipyegon set the new record by clocking a time of 3:49:04 at Stade Charlety led out by two pacemakers.
She eclipsed her previous record by 0.07sec set in Florence in June 2023.
Australian Jessica Hull came second with the fifth fastest 1500m time in history clocking 3:50:83.
Kipyegon is also the holder of the women’s mile World Record set during the Monaco Diamond League in 2023.
She clocked 4:07.64 in the mile, destroying Ethiopia’s Sifan Hassan’s four-year-old record of 4:12.33.
Kipyegon, 30, is also the former world record holder for the 5,000 metres.
